It is advisable to delegate powers and authority but it is extremely important to supervise their proper use.
Authority without accountability is disastrous. Aren’t we seeing it happening in front of our eyes, be it politics, families or societies?
A person with authority and without accountability becomes autocratic. Therefore, checks and balances are essential. Proper reporting helps in enforcing accountability.
