When we like a flower, we would like to pluck it and possess it. But when we love a flower, we allow it to blossom. In liking, we fulfill our selfish desires and in loving we respect other’s desires.
Same is with human relationships. If we like someone, we develop attachment. We develop possessiveness. In liking we are insecure.
But when we love someone we develop devotion. We let our loved ones to blossom and grow. In loving we feel secured.
