It is not easy to convince a person who has made up his mind to act in a particular way. Often people who pretend to seek our guidance, actually want us to accord consent or endorse their decision.
A person seeking genuine guidance will discuss the matter with open mind and will be ready to change his decision.
When we go to someone for guidance, we should bear this in mind. In being obstinate of getting our way, we may overlook the real picture or something good for us. In taking a short term view, we may compromise on our long term interest.
