Today is the New Year day for our Sikh brothers and sisters. Today is also a new year day for many communities who follow Solar System, for example, Baisakhi in Punjab, Bihu in Assam, Poila Boishakh in Bengal, and Vishu in Kerala. We wish happy new year to one and all.
This shows a strong Unity in Diversity. It is indeed a matter of pride to have a common thread of celebrations across India; North – South & East-West.
Today is the day when wheat harvesting begins in Punjab, which is feeding the entire Nation. Let’s hope that we have a bumper production of wheat and at the same time, farmers get a decent price for their produce.
