Every day tons of food is wasted in the world and tons of people go hungry. Isn’t it an irony of civilization?
Many people think wastage of food is okay, as they can afford it. However, wastage of food is a crime, because many can’t afford it.
Almost every religion propagates fasting, so that we empathise with those who are hungry. Unless we fast, we may not appreciate what is hunger.
