If something has to happen, it will surely happen. We have hardly any say in divine interventions. Ravana knew that he would be killed in the war with Lord Ram, yet could not prevent himself from the war.
Therefore, we should not get upset or worry about things that are likely to happen. We can at best be careful and try to minimise the loss. Worrying about future is not going to help us in any way.
The best way is to pray to God and leave things, including our protection, to Him.
