It is not uncommon to find people going back on their words or promises for petty material benefits. Little do they realise that they may gain materially, but lose morally.
Every time we break our promise, we degrade ourselves. We lose our self esteem and self worth, which no amount of money can buy.
It is an irony to find people taking their promises very lightly in a land of Lord Shri Ram, who sacrificed all luxuries of life to keep His father’s vows.
